WHAT ARE CERTIFIED COPIES?
A certified copy is an official duplicate of your original document, signed and stamped by me as a qualified notary public. I check that your document matches the original before certifying it, so your copy can be accepted as genuine for use abroad. Certified copies are often required for visa applications, work permits, property purchases or academic enrolment in another country. My simple certification and notarisation process helps you avoid costly mistakes and delays by ensuring everything is done right the first time.
Where required, my service can also support the authentication of documents and preparation for legalisation by the FCDO, depending on the destination country’s requirements. When you visit my office in Orpington, Bromley, Sidcup, Sevenoaks and Chislehurst, you can feel confident that I have correctly prepared your paperwork and made it ready for international use.
Foarte receptiva doamna notar. M-a ajutat sa legalizez notarial Settled Status si sa obtin apostila de la Haga in doar 3 zile, si trimise cu DHL direct catre mine în Romania. Recomand cu incredere.

DOCUMENTS I CAN CERTIFY
You might need a certified copy for passports, driving licences, degree certificates, or academic qualifications. I also regularly deal with utility bills, bank statements, company paperwork, powers of attorney, contracts, and other forms of identification. Each document type has its requirements, especially if you plan to use it overseas. I pay close attention to the specific needs of different authorities so your certified copy is accepted without question. If you’re unsure which documents you need certified, I can advise you before your appointment.
WHY CHOOSE PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION?
At Ema Notaries Ltd, I tailor certification wording to meet each country’s specific requirements and ensure that I prepare documents accurately for international use. I am a fully qualified notary public with an LLM in international law and a member of the Notaries Society, regulated by the Faculty Office. Since 2018, I have also worked as a certified translator, supporting clients with multilingual document needs.
I carry out thorough identity and document checks to provide complete peace of mind, alongside clear guidance to help reduce the risk of rejected applications. I also handle Crown copyright documents correctly and provide practical support throughout the process. Evening and weekend appointments are available for added convenience.

HANDLING CROWN COPYRIGHT DOCUMENTS
Some documents, like birth, marriage, or death certificates, are governed by special rules. These usually need to be original versions issued by the General Register Office. I cannot generally certify photocopies of these, as the Foreign Office will only legalise genuine originals. I’ll explain what’s accepted and guide you through the process, so you don’t waste time with unaccepted paperwork. I aim to make sure you’re prepared for any official requirements, at home or overseas.
